‘See what you made me do’, 2022, Acrylic Paint on Canvas, 160 x 236 cm
‘See what you made me do’ juxtaposes two moods to explore the liberation of a survivor from a domestic violent relationship. Rosselli entitled this painting “See what you made me do”, a taunt that perpetrators use to justify their violence. On the right hand side, Rosselli depicts dark colours and fractured visual representations to delineate the suffering of the survivor through a violent relationship. In sharp contrast with this, the bright summer-like colours of the left-hand side evoke the movement towards freedom, a place of lightness when a survivor escapes the relationship.
